Why OutAdvisor?

OutAdvisor is the premiere reviews and ratings site for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered communities. What makes us different? We've taken care to include only establishments that are either gay/lesbian/bisexaul/transgendered-owned or run, or that are known to be especially gay-friendly.

OutAdvisor is owned and run by members of our community, our reviews and ratings come from our community, and our site is here for our community in more ways than one.

In addition to providing this service free to the community, we also contribute 10% of our profits to gay/lesbian/bisexaul/transgendered charities and non-profit organizations within our community. For 2008, we plan to donate to the following community organizations: Food & Friends, Whitman-Walker Clinic, The Point Foundation, and GLAAD.

When you use OutAdvisor, we all benefit. Please register and join us today!

A historical San Francisco night-life landmark, Ten15 blasted onto the scene in the mid-80s and has been hosting the hottest DJs ever since. Considered the birthplace of clubbing, Ten15 is a true pioneer in the support of electronic music. We define ourselves through an uncompromising commitment to quality programming, stellar entertainment, and cutting edge corporate and private events.

In the early 80s, 1015 Folsom Street was the world-famous Sutro Bathhouse. A maze of massive hot tubs lay buried beneath the main dance floor and a retractable glass ceiling called to sunbathers. In 1985, the building was converted to Major Ponds, a live music venue.

In the summer of 1986, Ira Sandler took over the management of this ailing venue and created Das Klub, which at the time was San Francisco's largest, over-18, after hour’s hot spot. The venue later became a widely successful over-21 club, Martini (later joined by Kit Kat) on Fridays and Colossus, a popular gay scene, on Saturdays.

In 1996, Ten15 launched their highly successful weekend programming, which featured Spundae and Release. This combination would later become the longest running weekend party in San Francisco and was held with major acclaim. Events such as these led to multiple visionary programs hosted by Ten15, creating a model for clubs internationally to follow.

With this success, Ten15 continues to invest in and develop unprecedented and original sound, lighting effects, and pyrotechnics. Ten15 hosts the most powerful and advanced technological output of any club in the city. It is because of this technology and overall reputation, Ten15 received numerous awards and accolades both locally and nationally, including: Dancestar USAs Best Club in Ameriac (The American Dance Music Awards in Miami), Best of the Bays Best Dance Club for 5 years in a row (SF Bay Guardian), voted Audience Winner, Best Dance Club (Citysearch), voted Chronicle Reader's Choice, Best Dance Club (SF Chronicle), Digital City's Best Club IN San Francisco, and was featured in Zagatsurvey 2002 San Francisco Nightlife.

Ten15 is now rising with its own unique identity. With new staff, an innovative General Manager, and integrated marketing, the club’s image has been modified for an extensive renovation campaign.

Always the people's favorite, Ten15 continues to stand committed to providing the best, most forward, groundbreaking music in the Bay Area.
